40+ years ago there was one in Allentown that my dad used to take us to. This one in New Jersey didn't have the car hops but the root beer was still served in a frosty glass mug and was as good as I remember it. Plus there were free refills. The cheese steak and potatoe wedges where very good. The building was clean but a little run down. My wife and I will definitely stop the next time we're in that area.
I love love love that have a full vegan menu at this classic American staple restaurant. Bring the friends and family for vegan AND non vegan food. Vegan prices at bit pricey but hey, there is no where else in the area besides Killer vegan up north or Champs Diner in Brooklyn for some classic American dishes. Please keep the vegan food coming...maybe some vegan chili for the hot dogs. Also I can't wait for some vegan desserts! Keep it up guys!
Went to Stewart's to grab a "quick" bite for dinner and was starving when we got there around 815 on a Friday night. There wa handful of people besides us who were there. Ordered a California burger w cheese, top dog, and cheese fries. Did not see the food until 910!! Almost walked out when the waitress assured me the food would be out in 2 minutes. It was a long two minutes but when the food finally arrived it was incredible. I actually said to the waitress it was worth the wait, after she apologized about 5 times to us, and I stand by my statement. Overall the food is superb the wait time is not. Must have caught them on a busy day?? Don't remember this location ever being so slow
Some of the best food I ever ate. It has one of the largest menus of any restaurant ever. You can literally get something different every day and it is all delicious. I would highly recommend this place 7 stars if possible.
Ridiculously long wait of an hour. We ended up leaving and the food was still not coming!! Three omletts and a gyro, not that difficult!!! The "cooks" in the kitchen talking and singing. The place is run by a bunch of crack heads. Will never be back to Hazlet Stewart's!!!
